Make A Statement This Party Season

Party season is around the corner. This year, it’s all about making a big statement with decor.

Think warm and inviting welcome arches as big and momentous as the moment at hand or boxy backdrops where you can add floral arrangements and greenery for that extra wow factor.

While party welcome signs once sat on an easel, the trend over the past couple of years has been to display them more boldly and creatively. If you host a lot, investing in one that you can reuse might come in handy, or you can hire them from party hire businesses like The Social Hour Hire Co.

Owned by sisters, Erin and Amy, The Social Hour Hire Co is helping partygoers create an impact with their events right across Adelaide.

“The arch is usually the focal point of your celebration, so picking the right backdrop shape that works with the rest of your decor is important,” Erin says.

The stylish prop hire business caters for all events and milestones, including engagement parties, corporate events, christenings, birthdays and recently dog birthdays!

The creative sister-duo work with clients to create a set-up of personalised signage, backdrops, flowers and balloons, which includes drop off, pick up and installation of additional items.

“The biggest thing that sets us apart from our competitors is our ability to manufacture/produce custom backdrops in-house,” Erin says.

They came up with the idea to launch The Social Hour Hire Co in March 2019 when Erin was on the hunt for a specific backdrop for her daughter’s first birthday.

“It didn’t exist here in Adelaide, so I pitched the idea to Amy to start our own event hire business and the rest is history,” Erin says.

The girls’ goal is to always stay ahead of trends and bring new items to Adelaide to keep the market fresh and exciting.

“We were the first to have many trends here… our OG followers will remember our pink velvet wall!” Erin laughs.
