Winter Stay-cation at Holdfast Bay

Holdfast Bay isn’t just a summer-time destination; it has something to offer all year round. From culinary hotspots and luxury beach-front accommodation to coastal walks and more.

Destination Dining

There is an endless choice of dining – and drinking – options in Holdfast Bay. In fact, the area has some of the best cafés, restaurants and bars in Adelaide. Indulge in Jetty Road favourites such as the Instagrammable Terra & Sol for their fresh flavours and uber-cool Mediterranean-inspired décor, Bottega Gelateria for delicious, handcrafted gelato, and vibrant bar and dining hotspot Fourth for its boutique wines, craft beers, whiskeys and gins made just how you like them.

There’s also a long list of decadent dining options at the nearby Marina Pier, while for those who are after a more casual dining experience, Jetty Road Brighton boasts the likes of The Alchemists’ Kitchen (think mouth-watering wood-fired pizzas and chilli crab tagliatelle), Brighton Food & Wine for crispy fish tacos, Beach Pit for salt and pepper squid, and In Thais Cafe & Noodle Bar for delicious dumplings.

Get Moving

Even when the weather is inclement, there are loads of activities to enjoy at Holdfast Bay. For indoor family fun there is The Beachouse, Event Cinema, the Bay Discovery Centre, Little Picassos, Glenelg Air-Raid Shelter, Holdfast Bay History Centre, and the Brighton and Glenelg Library.

And if you’re after a little retail therapy you will want to check out Jetty Road Glenelg, Broadway, Glenelg South, and Jetty Road Brighton for new-season fashion and homewares.

If the sun is out or you want to get some fresh winter air, there are plenty of ways to get your 10,000 daily steps. You can swim with the dolphins with Temptation Sailing, hire a paddleboard from Stand Up Paddle SA, play beach volleyball, or fish from one of the local jetties or off the beach.

Nature-lovers will also love the six kilometre Glenelg to Seacliff Coastal Walk – pop into the Glenelg Visitor Information Outlet and choose from one of the self-guided maps and walks to learn about the extensive history of Holdfast Bay.
