5 New Eateries to Try This Summer

A new year brings new experiences. Here are just a few of Adelaide’s newest eateries to wine and dine at in 2024.

1. Niña

Hola! Located in the French-inspired Sofitel Hotel, Niña is one of Adelaide’s newest Spanish restaurants. Relaxed but funky, Niña is the perfect place to catch-up with friends and family in the new year. The restaurant’s dishes are made to be shared and will be served throughout the night while you sip on local wines and cocktails. Our menu picks are the charred octopus with romesco sauce or the mussels with tarragon aioli. Closed over the Christmas break, Niña reopens on January 5, so book now!

2. Olive

Co-owners of cooking school Sprout, Callum Hann and Themis Chryssidis, are behind one of Adelaide’s newest Mediterranean restaurants, Olive. Here, diners can expect a light, bright fit-out, all day dining, generous share plates, and unique cocktails. Described as a fusion from Morocco to the Middle East, Olive embodies European culture (namely food, family and flavour). Speaking of flavour, the spiced eggplant with white peas, pomegranate, black tahini and almonds will dance on your tastebuds. As for the restaurant’s name, Olive is derived from Callum and Themis’ love for olive oil and its health properties. Just what we need in the new year!

3. Trak

Looking for somewhere low-key but luxurious to dine? Toorak Garden’s new mediterranean restaurant Trak is the place to go for hearty meals. And it’s no wonder the new eatery has already found success: the owners are the crew behind Halifax’s popular Herringbone restaurant. From stout braised sticky beef short ribs to the beef carpaccio or spring risotto, the menu is extensive as it is delicious.

4. Enoteca Lounge & Cucina

Dive into a modern sanctuary where classic Italian flavors meet cutting-edge charcoal-infused cooking methods, creating a new twist on culinary delights. In the lively heart of Adelaide’s East End, Enoteca Lounge & Cucina is new to Rundle Street’s line-up of must-try eateries. Start with the burrata with charred red pepper before trying the caramelised onion and ricotta tortellini for something different.

5. Chianti

New year, year beginnings! Hutt Street’s old family-favourite restaurant, Chianti, has undergone a recent fitout, unveiling a slick new interior. But one thing remains the same: Chianti’s commitment to plating authentic Italian food. As one of the first restaurants in South Australia to be awarded the Ospitalità Italiana accreditation, presented by the Italian Government and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Australia, Chianti recreates a little piece of Italy in Adelaide with dishes like rabbit ragu pappardelle and spatchcock alla diavola, which is chargrilled over Sangiovese vines found in Tuscany’s wine region of Chianti. You don’t need to tell us twice to raise a glass and salut to a new year!
