Destination Wedding without the Distance

New venue House on Haines welcomes abundant light and panoramic views into its multi-level function space, making it the perfect location for a contemporary wedding year-round.

Only 30 minutes from the CBD, this just-opened wedding venue and event space resides in the Adelaide foothills, surrounded by overhanging gumtrees, lush lawns and picturesque views, making it perfect for couples searching for a destination wedding without the distance.

With floor-to-ceiling windows, exposed timber beams and a contemporary outdoor terrace, House on Haines combines subtle elegance with rustic charm. The multi-level space, designed by Studio Nine Architects, was purpose-built for magical moments year-round.

“The design utilises the surrounding picturesque landscape and maximises on views out,” says Studio Nine Architects project director Tony Zappia. “With the main purpose being a function venue, it was important for the design to be simple – a blank, yet refined canvas for events.”

Inside, the main function space boasts lofty ceilings, a bar and an exposed brick wall featuring a seven-metre fireplace. Detailed brass finishes adds luxury to the warm interior, which welcomes the ambience of the natural surroundings through the large windows. The light-filled space can cater 120 seated or up to 200 standing.

Curate your dream wedding and reception with expert help from the House on Haines function coordinator. Choose roving cocktail canapés or a customisable sit-down menu featuring dishes like kingfish ceviche, truffle butter stuffed chicken and slow-roasted pork served with parsnip vanilla puree, honey roasted carrots and crisp prosciutto.

In summer, tie the knot on the outdoor deck, shaded by a vaulted glass ceiling – modern take on a classic chapel – and surrounded by Tea Tree Gully’s greenery and blooming magnolia trees.

A two-way wood fireplace and operable wall keep events warm during the cooler seasons; the clever integration sheltering events from the elements. So, rain, hail or shine, House on Haines can accommodate your special day regardless.

This functional multi-level space also enables guests to roam the expansive entertaining areas – on the double-level deck, you can soak up the views of the private garden and in winter you can cosy around the two fire pits.

Spacious and inviting, this venue is enwreathed with foliage and a contemporary fit-out, making it perfect for your wedding or next event.
