Bottega Bandito and Gelato Messina Easter Collab

To celebrate Gelato Messina’s Adelaide arrival, the acclaimed gelatissimo has joined forces with Bottega Bandito to create a selection of mouth-watering Hot Cross Bun Gelato Sandos – available exclusively over the Easter long weekend!

Get stuck into a Gianduia X Triple Choc Hot Cross Bun (a hazelnut and chocolate blend – think Nutella, but better – on a bun jam-packed with milk, dark and white chocolate chunks). Or try the Pistachio Praline X Italian Fruit and Nut Bianco (fior di latte gelato with white chocolate and pistachio fudge and pistachio praline on a soft bun filled with cranberries, sultanas and pistachios).

Gelato Messina’s unique flavours and Bottega’s famous freshly-baked hot cross buns – it’s the perfect match! Only available this Easter long weekend until sold out – available from Bottega Bandito’s Prospect location.

What’s On This Long Weekend

The Easter Edition.

Have you left Easter plans to the last-minute? There’s still time to make the most of the long weekend. Here are a few events to hop along to.

Oakbank Fashion At The Races entrants.

FOR THE FOODIES

Australian Venue Co (AVC) Parmy Fundraiser | Across SA | APRIL 7–10

Parmy or parma? However you may refer to them, Australian Venue Co (AVC) is raising funds over the Easter long weekend by donating $1 for every parmy sold at more than 150 pubs across the country. ACV’s nation-wide initiative is to support SecondBite, an organisation which aims to reduce food waste and feed Aussies in need. Fundraising will run across all venues that sell chicken parmy on their menu. Every $1 donated can support up to five meals to those in need.

FOR THE ROAD TRIPPERS

Meadows Easter Fair | Adelaide Hills | APRIL 7–10

Head straight for the hills for the annual four-day Meadows Easter Fair where you can browse about 150 stalls, ranging from plants and second-hand goods to fresh produce. Fuel your energy with a low and slow BBQ, gastronomic burgers, fish and chips or wood oven pizza as you weave your way through the market. Don’t forget to stop by the animal farm to catch a glimpse of some cute and cuddly creatures – there might even be a sighting of the Easter bunny.

FOR COUPLES

Paxton Easter Picnic Weekend | McLaren Vale | APRIL 7–10

Paxton Easter Picnic Weekend is a free event designed for the whole family, but it’s also the perfect place to slow down and unwind with your loved one. Spread out on the luscious lawns at McLaren Vale’s Paxton Wines and toast with a glass of red while tuning into live music. Wander the property’s 1800s cellar door to stock up on delicatessen fare to build your own platter or dig into gourmet woodfired pizzas and doughballs from SA pizza joint DoughBalls (don’t worry, they’re fully cooked and delicious!)

FOR THE FASHIONISTAS

2023 Oakbank Easter Saturday | Adelaide Hills | APRIL 8

Find your favourite fascinator – Oakbank is here. Held on Easter Saturday in the Adelaide Hills, racegoers will pack a picnic or barbecue, set up a marquee and settle in for a day of country racing. But don’t forget: the real winner isn’t necessarily on the track – it’s in the Fashion At The Races event. Our girl, local stylist Lauren Dilena, is one of the judges, so dress to impress. We can’t wait to check out all the stylish entrants this year.

FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT

Adelaide International Kite Festival | Semaphore | APRIL 8–10

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a… kite. In fact, you’ll see a lot of kites flying high in the sky at Semaphore Beach this weekend. The Adelaide International Kite Festival brings twists and twirls to the air as the sky fills with kites of all shapes and colours. There’ll also be amusement rides and kite-making workshops for when your neck needs a rest from peering up in awe.

FOR FAMILIES

Hop Into Outlet This Easter | Harbour Town | UNTIL APRIL 9

If you need to burn off a few kilos of chocolate, head to Harbour Town for a walk to browse the many retail shops full of Easter gifts and goodies. The Tapleys Hill Road shopping precinct is open over the long weekend and has some egg-ceptional (sorry, we couldn’t help ourselves) Easter entertainment for the kids, from face painting to free magic shows. Stick around because a special fluffy visitor will make an appearance.
