After 30 years on The Parade, ORBE owners Ida and Joe are stepping into their newly renovated space confident, grounded, and proud of the decades of hard work behind them
A celebration of Ida and Joe’s shared vision and respect for their craft, this next chapter reflects the brand and team they’ve cultivated, and the loyal clients they’ve amassed over the years. A reflection of where they started, how far they’ve come, and the standards they continue to adhere to, this is the evolution of ORBE.
What inspired this latest renovation at ORBE?
Our goal was to create a calmer, more thoughtful environment that welcomes both our clients and our team, where every experience feels smooth, elevated, and intentional. It’s not about chasing trends; it’s about making sure the space aligns with our values and the way we want everyone to feel the moment they step through the door.
How will the new space reflect you and Joe as owners?
The new space truly captures how Joe and I lead – creative, grounded, and intentional. It warmly honours our beginnings and roots, while showcasing the sophistication and high standards we uphold in serving our loyal clients.
Are there any standout features clients will notice first?
Beyond the workspace’s sophistication, clients will immediately notice the picture wall showcasing our work over the years. It features moments from backstage at fashion weeks, editorial shoots, and industry highlights; a visual story of where we’ve been and the calibre of work we deliver. It’s not about nostalgia; it’s about craftsmanship, experience, and reminding both our clients and our team that this salon is built on real work, real creativity, and decades of dedication to the industry.

How does the new salon support ongoing staff training and development?
The layout allows for easy observation, hands-on mentoring, and real-time guidance on the salon floor without disrupting the client experience. Our approach to training has never been just about technique; it’s about confidence, professionalism, and understanding the bigger picture of the industry. This environment encourages creativity, focus, and pride in the craft, inspiring and supporting our team to grow into the best version of themselves.
How does this renovation fit into ORBE’s long-term vision?
The renovation is a wonderful step forward for ORBE, reflecting our exciting future; as the industry grows and changes, so do we, while staying true to the core values that made our business special from the start. Our goal is for ORBE to stay relevant, inspiring, and respected by improving how we work, train, and present ourselves.
What’s been the most rewarding part of seeing ORBE evolve over 30 years?
Staying true to who we are as the business evolves. Over these past 30 years, trends have come and gone, the industry has changed, and our business has expanded while our core values have remained steady. Building something that feels aligned, honest, and intentional after all this time is what we’re most proud of.
