A Little TLC in the CBD

South Australia’s premier wellbeing festival, WellFest Adelaide, returns next month to give wellbeing seekers the chance to try and treat themselves to something new.

Running from October 6–8, the three-day festival offers an abundance of indoor and outdoor events, thoughtfully curated to align with six wellbeing pillars: mindfulness, sleep, self-care, nutrition, fitness, and connection.

There are more than 70 enlightening WellFest events coming to Adelaide CBD and North Adelaide. Here are just five of those epic experiences to add to your wellness journal.

1. Yin Yoga, Cello and Aromatherapy

When: October 6, from 7.30pm–8.30pm

Where: One Degree Studio (173 Grote Street, Adelaide)

Unlike any yoga class you’ve attended, spend an evening practising Yin yoga while immersed in the scents of aromatherapy oils as a cellist plays dreamy symphonies in the background. Sip on a hot chai tea after the class before heading home for a restful slumber.

2. Fast, Fresh and Fabulous Cooking Class

When: October 6, from 10am–1pm

Where: WEA Adult Learning (223 Angas Street, Adelaide)

Learn time-saving, healthy cooking hacks during a three-hour cooking demo by nutritionist Yvette Jones. Yvette will share her yummy and secret recipes for chipotle chicken taco salad, meatball subs, Nutella brownies, Bounty bars and much more! Best of all? There’s no rabbit food in sight!

3. Relax and Revive at Pullman Adelaide

When: Available for stays between October 6–8

Where: Pullman Adelaide (16 Hindmarsh Square, Adelaide)

Treat yourself to a rejuvenating stay at the luxurious five-star Pullman Adelaide where you’ll nourish your body with delicious food and immerse yourself in the hotel’s range of wellness amenities, from a refreshing swim to sweating out toxins in the sauna. 4. Move.Mind.Maintain

When: October 7, from 7am–10am

Where: Sofitel Adelaide (108 Currie Street, Adelaide)

It’s time to move, be present and fuel your body! Wellbeing advocate, Nikki Higgins, has collaborated with the luxurious French-inspired Sofitel Adelaide to help you do just that. This morning of mindfulness starts with Nikki’s own ‘Nikkalates’ (a series of movements informed by Nikki’s favourite practices, encompassing a blend of yoga, Pilates, toning and strength combos). Indulge in a delicious buffet breakfast in Sofitel’s luxe restaurant, Garcon Bleu, before ending with a swim in the hotel’s indoor heated pool, gym or sauna.

5. Mantra Sound Healing Meditation

When: October 8, from 6pm–7.30pm

Where: Australian School of Meditation & Yoga (20 Chapel Street, North Adelaide)

From guided relaxation and breathing to beautiful Kirtan (chanting meditation), this enlivening experience will leave you feeling totally relaxed and refreshed, from the inside out. Hear that? That’s the sound of pure peace and joy.
