Here’s our round-up for this weekend’s must-attend events.
FIFA Fan Festival | Festival Plaza (King William Road) | From July 20
Held at Festival Plaza, Adelaide’s free FIFA Fan Festival is the place to catch all the live action of FIFA Women’s World Cup. In between cheering on the green and gold girls on the large projector, there’ll be live entertainment including cultural dance performances, DJs and concerts. Hungry? Dig into a menu curated by local Adelaide chef Callum Hann, and don’t forget to take a selfie with Tazuni the FIFA Women’s World Cup mascot!
Sugar High – Silent Disco | Hutt Street | July 22
Got your sugar fix? Make the most of all that buzzing energy by breaking out a move or two at Hutt Street’s Sweet Treats Festival’s Sugar High Silent Disco. Pop on a pair of headphones and dance to banging tunes from the 70s, 80s and 90s, plus have a laugh at the fun commentary from your tour guide. Although this is a free event, spaces are limited so rock up early to secure a spot.
Winter Glow | Renmark (Riverland) | July 22
If you’re up for an impromptu road trip, witness Renmark light up in all its glory at the family-friendly event Winter Glow. From creating your own glow lantern to playing after-dark lawn games and watching fire twirlers light up the riverfront, this cool event brings the Riverland into the well-deserved spotlight.
World Tequila Weekend | 23rd Street Distillery (Riverland) | July 22 & 23
We’re not salty about celebrating this special event! If you’re in the Riverland for Winter Glow, stop by Renmark’s 23rd Street Distillery to celebrate World Tequila Weekend. Raise a glass during a few El Toro Tequila tastings, sip on exclusive tequila cocktails or learn how to make one yourself in a tequila cocktail masterclass. We already know what’s on our road-trip playlist this weekend: Tequila!
Prohibition Gin Bottle Painting | Gilbert Street (Adelaide) | July 23
It’s not always what’s on the inside that counts. Go on a gin bottle painting workshop with Adelaide distiller Prohibition Liquor Co. Be guided by a local artist as you paint a design on an empty Prohibition Gin bottle to take home as a keepsake. Add dried florals or make it extra pretty with lights for a unique home or office décor idea. And, of course, it wouldn’t be a gin workshop without a taste-test. Enjoy a G&T on arrival as you listen to good tunes and put brush to bottle.
