Illuminate Adelaide is back, bringing an explosive program fusing world-class art with music and technology. The month-long celebration is set to light up and inject life into Adelaide. The groundbreaking program will see international headliners like the Gorillaz and Ouchhh Studio host electric events alongside previous favourite installations. Running between July 1 and July 31, the city-wide program brings innovation and imagination to the forefront, collaborating with international, interstate and South Australian creatives.

Umbrella Festival Opening Weekend at Pirate Life | July 1-3

Kicking off the month-long celebrations for Umbrella Festival, Pirate Life Brewing is hosting a jam-packed weekend filled with local talent, firepits and boozy craft beer. The three-day event will see a rotation of food trucks and homegrown musicians revolving through the Port Adelaide brewery as punters quench their thirst on new-release Pirate Life beers. Entry is free on Friday and Sunday, with a $10 cover charge on the Saturday session. South Australia is the festival state for a reason!

Winter Wonderland @ Moseley Square | July 1-31

Beat the winter blues by heading to the Winter Wonderland taking over Moseley Square this month. Ditch the surf and ice skate in the square, with sessions running once an hour from 10am until 8:30pm. The last evening session on Friday and Saturday will see the Winter Wonderland crank tunes from the 70s and 80s while you dance on the ice. Escape to a neighbouring bar, post-skate, and warm up with a good glass of red. Baby, it’s cold outside. Tickets start at $12.

Tasting Australia Winter Edit | July 1-31

There’ll be truffles, degustations and plenty of wine: Tasting Australia’s Winter Series is back, and the beloved foodie festival is taking over our social calendars this July. Spend time getting to know what makes South Australia the food capital with events spanning the state this month. This weekend Tin Shed wines are heading to the Kensington Hotel, bringing the best of the Barossa to the CBD. Wine, dine and have a good time at the long Sunday lunch.

Cry Baby’s Birthday | July 2

Cry Baby is turning four! Adelaide’s beloved dive bar is throwing a birthday bash this weekend, celebrating many long nights of loud tunes, strong drinks and laughter. The last two birthdays were sorely skipped due to covid restrictions, so the Cry Baby team is keener than ever to throw a celebration the club deserves. Let loose under the pink neon sign as bands like the Delta Riggs play on the make-shift stage. There’ll be drink specials, giveaways and limited edition merch, too. Tickets cost $32, with the fourth birthday fun starting at midday.

Toast x Familiar | July 3

Adelaide’s wine nook is teaming up with a new cooking trio, Familiar, for an afternoon of organic wine and tasty Thai food. Loc Bottle Bar is welcoming guests brave enough to face the cold to indulge in an afternoon of good food, good wine and great times with the re-instalment of Toast. The afternoon includes a three-course meal, dessert and matched wine. The event will predominately unfold outside, so the Loc team advise dressing warmly. Tickets cost approximately $69, and the event begins at 1 pm.
