At the end of August, three days of cheese and wine heaven await at Mould x Pinot Palooza

This year, REVEL is bringing a cheese-filled, pinot-paired party to Adelaide with Mould x Pinot Palooza.
The festival takes the already delightful idea of an afternoon spent with a good bottle and cheese platter, then supercharges it. By bringing together two established events, vino lovers and curd nerds alike can enjoy three days of friends, fromage and fermentation over a weekend in August.
Mould festival was established in 2017 and showcases over 50 varieties of cheeses from producers around the country, spanning everything from the fresh and delicate to the aged and bold. Pinot Palooza began in 2012 and brings together over 50 expressions of pinot noir from Australia, New Zealand and further afield, poured directly by the winemakers that made them. The result is more than a hundred new obsessions waiting to be discovered.
When it comes to edible delights, it’s not just cheese on the lineup. Delicious additions are available in the form of artisan salami, local honey, crackers and preserves from independent producers. The epic cheese board these call to mind is one we definitely want a bite from. There are also ways to wet your whistle beyond pinot, with beer, spirits and cocktails to try.

Ever thoughtful, the exposition also offers a cheese check. It’s much like a coat check, but for the cheesy goodies you’ve picked up throughout the day, because nobody wants warm brie burning a hole in their pocket. Treasures can be dropped off in the safe, chilled zone, which means no lugging and no melting.
The festival is presented by REVEL, with their head Jess Audas remarking, “We’re beyond excited to bring Mould x Pinot Palooza back for its biggest year yet in 2026. Cheese and pinot naturally belong together, and this format gives people the freedom to explore both at their own pace, talk directly with producers, and enjoy the experience without it feeling over-programmed or precious. It’s about great produce, great people and having a genuinely good time.”

Tickets are $59, plus a booking free, and include festival entry, unlimited cheese and pinot tastings, a complimentary cooler bag for any goodies you might want to take home with you, a stemless wineglass for tasting and a custom wine tote.
Adelaide’s chapter of the festival will be held at the historic Queens Theatre, located on Playhouse Lane and Gilles Arcade in the city’s centre. The festival runs from Friday the 28th to Sunday the 30th of August. However, the session times vary depending on which day you attend, so pay their website a visit for more details.
