Where Adelaide gathers for easy dining, drinks, and atmosphere
It has now been four years since Rob and Libby Paglia took over and rebranded the historic Bookmakers building at Victoria Park – formerly known as The Stables. In that time, the venue has truly begun to establish its identity within Adelaide’s hospitality scene, offering a warm, community-focused space that caters to a wide range of experiences. Tucked away within Victoria Park, Victoria Park Social Club combines the charm of its heritage setting with modern amenities in a space that feels genuinely welcoming. Whether you’re hosting an intimate wedding reception, attending a summer soirée on a warm January night, or catching up with friends and family for a bite to eat, the venue provides the perfect backdrop.
From intimate family celebrations to black-tie weddings, relaxed pizza nights and full à la carte service, Victoria Park Social Club has become a versatile destination for all occasions. This flexibility has been key to the venue’s growing reputation, allowing it to evolve naturally alongside the needs of its guests and the wider community.
The hugely popular Sunday Sessions have quickly become a staple for guests, combining outdoor cooking, dedicated cocktail bars, and live DJs to create an atmosphere that is both vibrant and laid-back. These sessions perfectly reflect the belief that a social club should feel like home – welcoming, inclusive, and adaptable – while encouraging people to linger and enjoy the space.
From the kitchen, guests can expect what locals and visitors alike have come to know and love: the venue’s famous wood fired oven pizzas. A visit often begins with antipasto, featuring house-pickled and marinated vegetables, cured meats, fresh pecorino, and sourdough, before moving onto a curated menu of hand-stretched 12-inch pizzas. To finish, guests can enjoy creamy gelati or one of the chef’s selected dessert specials.

Supporting South Australian producers is at the heart of what they do. Seafood is sourced directly from local fishermen, and all meat and poultry comes from within the state. This commitment not only ensures freshness and quality, but also strengthens connections with the people and businesses that help make the region special.
Their annual events calendar continues to grow in popularity each year. Highlights include the week-long Winter Italian Festival, Paella in the Park, AFL Grand Final celebrations, the Melbourne Cup, and a series of chef and wine collaborations that showcase exceptional local talent. These events have become key moments for the VPSC year, bringing people together in the true spirit of a social club.
The inspiration behind Victoria Park Social Club has always stemmed from their own backyard – quite literally. Rob and Libby wanted to create a venue that echoed the joy and simplicity of the places they visited as children: somewhere that felt familiar, welcoming, and full of life. Today, that vision continues to guide them as they build a space defined by outstanding service, mouth-watering food, an inviting atmosphere, and a strong sense of community.
