Emali Early Learning Centre thinks outside the box when developing education pathways that equip children with the tools to tackle life’s transitions. Here’s how the nine state-of-the- art centres turn learning opportunities into foundational skills
Future focused

What does a holistic approach to early learning education look like? Across all nine Emali centres, setting young minds up for a great start in life is the goal. The principles of Australia’s Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) – belonging, being and becoming – are delivered via highly qualified educators and an individualised environment that prioritises play- based learning (likewise, the emotional and social building blocks children need to thrive have the space to develop). These focus points result in inquisitive young minds who are confident, resilient and kind.
Emali’s certified in-house cooks and nutrition team also work with local producers (including Riviera Bakery or Tony & Mark’s) to conceptualise seasonal meals that are culturally inclusive, allergen safe, substantial and healthy. Fresh ingredients become colourful courses that promote variety, support growth and cognitive development. This helps children learn about nutrition and establish independence via preparing, serving and cleaning up – skills designed to excel school readiness.
Well-rounded

A well-rounded education comes from lessons learnt outside the classroom, which is why Emali has established extra-curricular pathways adjacent to the traditional learning environment. Not only does this approach ease the burden placed upon time-constrained parents, but it also lets children broaden their interests and establish strong foundations for the rest of their lives. Each Emali ELC is uniquely designed with features to support this – just look to the swim school at the Salisbury centre (which teaches water safety and swimming lessons) or the on-site barn at Littlehampton. However, all Emali centres have additional multicultural Music and Movement classes, a weekly sports program, cooking and gardening lessons and off-site excursions (think visits to the museum or the local library, or guided walks to the beach or park) to encourage growth through observation and exploration.
Self-awareness, responsibility, listening and clear communication are some of the day-to-day tools these activities develop, as well as fine and gross motor skills. Even better, these extra-curricular activities
are worked into the cost of enrolling your child at Emali, so all children are included!
Accessible for all

Emali has recently opened its latest ELC, located in Campbelltown. This new purpose-built centre supports children from six weeks to preschool age in a spacious environment that encourages exciting learning opportunities. All services, including extra-curricular activities and preschool program, will be provided at this new location. Emali also worked with occupational therapists from Motivate Kids to design a new sensory space to help young minds regulate big emotions and improve physical capabilities, complemented with free flow indoor-outdoor learning environments, a bike track and an edible garden to care for.
“Campbelltown has such a unique and vibrant community full of quality food, cultural diversity and inclusive play spaces,” says Emali Area Manager, Leah Jonker. “It’s exciting to introduce Emali Campbelltown to new families and continuing to incorporate our local community into the design of our learning spaces and planned experiences for the children.
