House of Medical Aesthetics opens in January 2025. Describe the new practice.

House of Medical Aesthetics is a private, boutique-style cosmetic medical space. Alongside my colleague, Mary Giannopoulos, we’ll be moving our well-established cosmetic business to our new location. We’ll have enough space to expand our services, as well as have other professional independent medical and beauty businesses join us.

What services does the House of Medical Aesthetics plan to offer?

We offer evidence-based, non-surgical anti-ageing and wellness options, [from] traditional wrinkle reduction and facial volumising treatments to collagen stimulation and hydration alternatives. We’ve also introduced our new Dual Focus Radiofrequency (RF) Microneedling and High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) machine. This offers two sought-after, non- invasive treatment technologies combined in one device. The Medik8 skincare range is also available.

What sets House of Medical Aesthetics apart?

The feedback we hear most from our clients is trust. Not only trust in our skills and education but also trust in our ethics. We are not here to just sell a product; we are here to give a long-term personalised service. We build a rapport that lasts for years [thanks to a] combination of experience, professionalism, passion, honesty and integrity. We’ve learned to listen and spend time with our clients to produce the best outcomes.

The clinic itself is stunning…

The building is a gorgeous 1800s villa that was in desperate need of some love (it used to be a shoe shop back in the day)! We’ve restored the exterior to its original glory. The interior is sympathetic to the era and has been completely refurbished with modern facilities and services. It also has a gorgeous courtyard garden and a white picket fence.

Why is it important to create a holistic and calm space for your business?

A calm and beautiful space adds to the overall experience for a client. [Taking care in your] space reflects the professionalism of your business, your standards and your work.

You’re a highly respected registered nurse with more than 25 years experience. Why is that important?

Having worked in this industry for a long time, I understand the challenges. I also understand that running a business is very different from working solely in a clinical setting.

Things are forever evolving, and it takes commitment and work to keep up with the legislative changes, procedures and protocols, as well as the latest products and techniques.

Legally, it’s a requirement to be a registered nurse or doctor to perform these treatments in Australia. However, just because someone has the qualifications doesn’t mean they have the finesse and skill to achieve facial harmony. In our clinic, we always adhere to natural-looking results and strive to achieve facial balance. Taking on a role as a consultant nurse trainer has also allowed me to help raise the education and standards in this field. I feel it’s time to give back to the industry that has allowed me to do what I love over the past 25 years.

What do you hope for the future of House of Medical Aesthetics?

We hope to have a beautiful working environment where staff and clients look forward to coming. We have a great central location with plenty of street parking, and we’re known for creating great natural outcomes for our clients.
