The season of eating and drinking has commenced! Here are a few of our favourite venues to bookmark…
Lot.100

Hyper-local by design, Lot.100’s 84-acre property is a hub for craft booze, fresh produce and artisan excellence. Here you’ll find some of the freshest flavours in the Adelaide Hills alongside four of SA’s brightest independent drink-makers: Mismatch Brewing Co, Vinteloper, 78 Degrees and Ashton Valley Fresh Juices.
Days spent at the working craft brewery and small-batch distillery start with a tipple from your favourite producer– think an easy-drinking Mismatch session ale or 78 Degrees grapefruit cooler. Sun yourself on the lush lawns or in the courtyard. It’s the perfect place for a laid-back, local-produce-filled lunch with rounds of wood-fired pizza, small plates to share and generous servings of dessert on offer.
After something a little more sophisticated? Opt to sit inside the light-filled, pitched-roof cellar door. The timber-clad space matches the mood of special events – a vibe only elevated by the long lunch set menu, curated by head chef Jack Winfield. South Australian produce is the star of the show in these ever-evolving, seasonally-orientated courses.
Go one step further and choose to add a wine, spirit or beer flight
to your afternoon. Or, if you’re after something more hands-on, book into a gin blending masterclass with the award-winning 78 Degrees distillery. There are also brewery tours and pizza- making classes for groups looking for something out of the ordinary!

FRATELLI ITALIAN DELI

If customers routinely say you serve the best coffee on Prospect Road, you know you’re doing something right. And that’s the reputation Fratelli Italian Deli has garnered after only 12 months of operation.
This family-owned hole-in-the-wall opened in October last year, quickly achieving cult status thanks to its espressos and authentic paninis that take cues from Italo-American delis. Fratelli’s knows fresh, simple ingredients win taste buds and build a community. That’s why you’ll find locally sourced produce throughout their 15-strong made-to-order panini menu.
Chow down on their signature Chicken Alla Vodka sando – a crumbed chicken cutlet and stracciatella mix with basil pesto and homemade vodka sauce – or other go-to flavour combos, like a fresh mortadella and stracciatella panini with crushed pistachios and honey.
Still hungry? Taste your way through the deli’s standout side dishes, which include truffle fries and jumbo olives ascolane. There’s also no need to stress if you’re vegan, vego or gluten-free – panini customisation is encouraged, and the deli caters for dietaries.
Fratelli is serious about coffee, too. Expect strong shots of espresso, macchiatos and even frozen Crema Di Café here. It’s also fully licensed – sip cold Peronis and Italian wines inside seven days a week.
