The idea of IOTA Aesthetics first came to Lucy when she had two friends go through chemotherapy and she learnt there was a gap in the SA market for natural-looking permanent brow services. Initially, she used her four and half years of experience as a registered nurse to become qualified in microblading and aesthetic tattooing techniques for friends and family. “But as I delved deeper into the craft, I fell in love with the art form,” she says.

Today, the brow studio offers both nano brow tattoos – a service which uses a machine to administer hair-like strokes – and powder brow tattoos, which give a softer, low-maintenance result. Lucy is also trained in brow lamination, tinting and faux freckle tattooing. The permanent make-up options are perfect for people who want to get up and go in the morning, and they should last for upwards of nine months before they start to fade. IOTA Aesthetics also offers a 12-month brow subscription for those who want regular tint, wax or lamination appointments, making the entire process even more stress-free!

Putting people first is what Lucy does best. She schedules extra time for brow mapping with every client and offers six months of complimentary touch-ups to fine-tune colour and depth. Her treatment space is solar-powered and products are eco- friendly, vegan and cruelty free where possible (including biodegradable gloves and compostable bed covers). However, thanks to her nursing background, hygiene is always top priority, and client safety is never compromised for sustainability.
