The modern business environment is evolving. Here’s how St Andrew’s School is preparing students for the future with it’s state-first program.

We can order sushi to our doorstep with a tap on our phones; e-commerce has made it possible to set up a business from our garage; and the internet means we’re more connected than ever. Today, being an entrepreneur is an increasingly viable career path and it is essential young learners develop strong business skills. That’s why St Andrew’s School is preparing their Year 6 students for the future by launching the ABE Endorsed KidsMBA.
The first of its kind in South Australia, the KidsMBA will nurture entrepreneurship and leadership in young minds. The program will cover topics such as marketing, finance, teamwork and innovation through a curriculum of interactive and engaging lessons to progress students learning. Endorsed by the globally recognised Association of Business Executives (ABE), the KidsMBA is a highly respected program that will impart the necessary tools students need to succeed later in life.
“At St Andrew’s, we are dedicated to providing our students with opportunities to develop essential life skills and apply them in meaningful ways that add value and enhance impact,” says Principal Luke Ritchie. “We are equipping our students to become creative problem solvers and innovators.”
The highlight of the program is its Shark Tank event, where students will pitch a unique business idea to a panel of judges. Students will get to showcase their creativity, problem-solving skills and business knowledge through applying what they’ve learnt in a fun and practical setting.
Joining the Shark Tank panel is Mayor of Walkerville Melissa Jones. “This initiative is a fantastic opportunity for our students to develop crucial entrepreneurial skills and inspire their future success,” she says. “I’m especially excited to join the Shark Tank panel at the end of the course and hear the innovative ideas these young minds will present.” Alongside Mayor Jones, the KidsMBA links St Andrew’s students with thought-starters and industry- movers, such as EatNow founder Matt Dyer and Professor Raj Shekhawat from Flinders University.
The KidsMBA is currently offered in over 30 countries worldwide. This move continues to tap into St Andrew’s commitment to being leaders in the education industry, particularly as the School enters its bold new era of ‘Nurturing Greatness’. The introduction of initiatives like the KidsMBA program marks a significant step in the School’s 174-year history of empowering students to reach their full potential.
