Georgie Todd: People First

It’s not just about the sale, it’s about the relationships made along the way. Harris Real Estate Property Consultant, Georgie Todd, talks team tactics, first impressions and the value of great communication.

Who makes up the Georgie Todd team?

I have been working in real estate for just over 17 years now! In that time, I’ve worked out that delivering the best service to our sellers and buyers can only be done with an outstanding team supporting me.

Alexandra Green started as team manager a few years ago before moving up to work as a co-agent and, more recently, helping me at the forefront of our sales campaigns. Taylor Thompson has since joined us from within Harris to take over from Alexandra and help steer the ship to make sure everything runs smoothly!

The dynamic between the three of you is obvious. How important is this and how does it impact on the team’s overall success?

One of the non-negotiables for the team is enjoyment – if we’re stressed or strained, we won’t be delivering the best service. So, we make sure we’re always supporting each other and celebrating the wins together while ensuring we make the most our downtime.

Marketing is also something you and your team are particularly good at, from advertising for sale to marketing your own brand to potential clients. Why is this so important?

You only get one chance to make a first impression – and it’s the finer details that turn a great first impression into an unforgettable one. Presenting a property for sale in the best possible light enables the widest number of potential buyers to envision their lives there. Those emotional connections often result in thousands of dollars difference in sale price.

Our own brand is just as important – selling a home is an honour we don’t take lightly. We want people to get a sense of who we are in everything we do.

Being approachable and a good communicator are also important skills to have in your line of work…

Selling a home is one of the most stressful things someone can do. Open, clear and consistent communication is key to making sure clients have all the information they need to make the best possible decisions.

Describe a typical day in the office.

We always start with a morning meeting to see where everything is at from the previous day and how we can help each other before diving in! One of the best things about real estate is there is no typical day – we’re out at appraisals and open inspections just as much as we’re in the office processing contracts and building marketing.

What would you like potential clients to know about you and your team?

We simply love what we do and truly care that every client and property get the best possible outcome.
