Street Style Collab: Ena Pelly x Elle Ferguson

Fashion-forward label Ena Pelly has reignited its relationship with trendsetter and influencer Elle Ferguson for a second street-style collaboration. Here, founder Danielle Pelly and Elle unpack the creativity of EP x EF 2.0.

Congratulations on the release of your second collaboration, EP X EF 2.0! Why were the two of you drawn to working together again?

Danielle: Thank you! Our first collaboration last year performed so well that it just seemed like a no-brainer to do another collection together. Every collaboration we do needs to feel like a natural fit for both Ena Pelly as a brand and the creative partner. I want to ensure I have a genuine relationship with the people we choose to work with. When we’re like-minded and have a strong creative synergy, it always results in the best outcomes.

Elle: Dani and the team are incredible to work with and the process between us comes organically. The collection, for me, is all about epic pieces that can fit into everyone’s wardrobe while keeping on-trend – exactly what Ena Pelly does best!

Danielle, how does this collection differ from your last?

Danielle: This time, we’ve gone in more of a moto-core direction, drawing inspiration from vintage moto branding, using bold colour pops and leaning into distressed textures. The collection is a true collaboration in the sense that our iconic leather and sweater are present, but they’re reworked to reflect Elle’s personal style and aesthetic.

Tapping into an element of timelessness is something you’re both driven by. How does this collection achieve this?

Danielle: This collection definitely has some very ‘fashion’ pieces, but leveraging vintage-inspired graphics means the pieces themselves don’t really fall out of trend. They might not be ‘classic’, but they become timeless in their own way – think styles like the JF Faux Fur Coat or the KLF Leather Biker Jacket. Our first biker jacket was designed in 2014, and we are still selling that style with a slight refresh to the design!

Walk us through some of the must- know pieces you both personally love.

Danielle: Both Elle and I especially love the long-sleeved KLF Moto Tee Dress. It’s edgy, unique, and versatile! We have loved seeing it styled in so many ways – and clearly, the customer loves it [too] since it sold out in less than a week! My other favourite is probably the Blue Bird Hoodie. I’m obsessed with the colour and it’s so comfortable, I’ve been living in it lately.

Why do you think your personal styles complement each other so well?

Elle: Both Dani and I wear and create styles that are true to our own brand – anything that we design we essentially have created for ourselves. I think that’s why our designs work so well because what we’ve made is authentic to who we are. Nothing feels forced and everything comes together quite cohesively.

What goes into creating a collection together? What’s the process?

Danielle: There are a lot of Zoom meetings, mood boarding and sharing references in the early stages. From there, we develop samples and look at fit and features together in person so we can develop the pieces collaboratively. [Creatives like Elle] typically play a big part in the creative direction for the campaign shoot and final output with our marketing team, too – we allow them to be truly immersed in the end-to-end process.

Elle: The relationship has to feel organic! I will only put my name to something that I am actually passionate about and something that encompasses what I represent. Something I love about working with the team at Ena Pelly is that they are agile and open- minded to try something new. There are so many brands engaging in talent and influencer partnerships these days, so I think it is really important not to get lost in that and stick with those collaborations that truly align.
