Thinning hair? There’s now a 100 percent natural treatment using your skin tissue to activate hair rejuvenation. Dr Rahma Targett of Advanced Cosmetic Medicine explains.

Regenera Activa is a regenerative cell treatment used to rejuvenate and restore hair loss. What’s involved?
By harnessing the body’s own regenerative abilities, Regenera Activa provides a viable option for both women and men who suffer from androgenetic hair loss. This is the most common cause of hair loss and can also be referred to as male or female pattern hair loss. The process begins by gathering small tissue samples from the patient’s scalp, rich in regenerative cells and growth factors. These samples undergo processing in our clinic to create a concentrated
cellular solution, which is then injected into areas experiencing hair loss or thinning. This personalised solution works to awaken dormant hair follicles, enhance blood circulation and revitalise the scalp environment, ultimately encouraging the natural growth of hair.
This revolutionary treatment can benefit clients with alopecia. Who else is a suitable candidate for Regenera Activa?
During the consultation process, understanding the root cause [of a patient’s hair loss] is the vital first step. In terms of who is a suitable candidate, patients experiencing genetic hair loss or living with an autoimmune condition causing patchy hair loss, mums with post-partum hair loss, and those experiencing thinning of the hair rather than distinct bald patches [are all candidates]. That said, suitable candidates should typically exhibit only mild to moderate levels of hair loss or thinning for optimal outcomes. Regenera Activa also offers suitability for a wider range of patients seeking hair rejuvenation, including those who may want to thicken their hair by undergoing hair transplant surgery but are not suitable candidates due to medical conditions or limited donor hair availability. It’s worth noting Regenera Activa doesn’t replace the traditional hair transplant, but it can help those with mild to moderate hair loss who aren’t able to undergo traditional hair transplant surgery.
Regenera Activa uses a patient’s own hair follicles or skin tissues. What’s the benefit of this?
Correct, Regenera Activa uses your body’s own progenitor cells for the treatment, minimising the risk for allergic reactions or other complications. The use of the patient’s own skin tissue, also known as autologous micrografting, ensures a high level of safety as there’s no risk of transmitting diseases or infections from donor sources.
How many sessions will patients need to see results? Is there any upkeep?
Aft er your first session of Regenera Activa, it’s recommended to have a maintenance session one year later and then once a year moving forward to maintain results. The treatment can take anywhere between 30 and 90 minutes, so we recommend our patients block out sufficient time in their day for the session.
Can Regenera Activa be combined with other hair treatments?
Yes! We commonly encourage our NeoGraft hair transplant patients to include a session of Regenera Activa as
the two treatments are combined they work synergistically to improve hair restoration results. Combining Regenera Activa with other hair rejuvenation treatments such as topical medications, oral medications, low-level laser therapy, or platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy may also off er benefits.
We’ve heard the treatment isn’t just used for hair loss…
Indeed, Regenera Activa offers benefits beyond addressing hair loss alone and has shown promise in treating various skin conditions, including those with acne scars, wrinkles, sun damage, or uneven skin texture. Regenera Activa can help stimulate collagen production, enhance skin elasticity, and reduce the appearance of these scars and fi ne lines. By injecting the concentrated cellular solution into affected areas, Regenera Activa activates the body’s natural healing mechanisms, leading to smoother, healthier skin.
