The secret to tighter and clearer skin is at the fingertips of Glenside’s Neo-Aesthetics Skin and Laser Clinic. We find out all about the clinic’s versatile radio frequency microneedling system and why it’s the go-to treatment for glowing skin.

What is Potenza?
An advanced radio frequency (RF) microneedling system, Potenza uses ultrafine needles and RF energy to delicately pierce the outer layers of the skin. The revolutionary treatment can be used on all skin types, anywhere on the body, to address aesthetic concerns including melasma, pigmentation, scars, rosacea and acne. The goal is glowing skin, where collagen and elastin repairs and rejuvenates to ultimately reduce wrinkles and sun damage and clear blemishes, resulting in a tighter and more flawless appearance.
How it works
Potenza features 10 types of microneedle tips of varying densities and depths that can go from the surface of the skin to deep into the dermis. In fact, the device is the first and only to provide enhanced topical penetration by up to 67 percent. Once the gentle needle pricks are made on the skin, thermal energy is produced, heating and triggering the body to produce collagen and elastin – both of which are proteins that work together to strengthen and tighten skin.
What to expect
On the day of the treatment, a topical anaesthetic is applied to the area (this takes up to 45 minutes), and a cold air device may also be used to ensure total patient comfort. While the treatment requires minimal downtime, there may be some pinpoint bleeding, swelling and redness, though this usually subsides within 24 hours depending on age, skin condition and overall health. Topical agents may be advised to enhance the effect or improve post-procedure redness and swelling. For optimum outcome, ensure good hydration on the day of the treatment and follow pre and post-care instructions.
The result
Depending on age and skin issues, three to four treatments may be all it takes to see a difference, while more significant results can occur after five or more treatments, spaced about four to six weeks apart. And good things really do come to those who wait: the skin continues to improve six to 12 months post treatment! For best results, we recommend multi -modality treatment using our oral supplements, a topical skin care regime, bio-modelling treatment, and our Picosure Pro laser. Our doctors and nurses will determine your suitability for these treatment combinations.
