EXPLORE THE VERY BEST IN SOUTH AUSTRALIAN STYLE, LIFESTYLE NEWS, EVENTS AND MORE

What’s On This Weekend

Festivals, events and fun to fill your weekend.

Tasting Australia

Tasting Australia is back, transforming the state into a playground of flavour, food and fun from May 3 to May 12. The Autumn festival transcends everything you’d expect from the 10 day eating and drinking event. Explore SA’S famed regions and unearth their flavours through long dinners and degustations; experience the magic of some of Australia’s culinary collaborations (we’ve got our eye on the Agnes x Kiin reunion dinner!); or uncover the wonders of our state’s renowned wine world through a series of masterclasses and tastings. The Town Square is also back this year – a buzzing hub of pop-up stalls from Adelaide’s favourite restaurants and vendors, including Africola Canteen, Olive, Kuti Shack and Peel St Restaurant.

TINA – The Tina Turner MUSICAL

An inside look at one of the world’s greatest artists, Tina Turner. Crowned the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Tina Turner defined genres and generations, wrote the music rule book and then took great joy in breaking said rules. More than 20 songs from her iconic back catalogue are weaved throughout the two-hour and 45-minute production (including fan favourites ‘Simply The Best’, ‘River Deep – Mountain High’ and ‘Proud Mary’) – a sparkling sonic backdrop to one of the most inspiring stories in music history. TINA – The Tina Turner Musical is showing at the Festival Theatre until May 19.

South Australia’s History Festival

For the month of May, South Australia is opening its history books and inviting you to uncover some of the incredible stories that make up this state. The annual history festival is a chance for the people, places and tales that define SA to shine. This year’s theme is ‘Power’ – an idea that intersects art with science, food, fashion and storytelling. This concept coalesces in the 100 power portraits of South Australians commissioned for this year’s festival, but you’ll also find Power is the connection thread through the hundreds of events, exhibitions and tours taking place from May 1 to 31.

Beauty & The Beast

One of the world’s most beloved fairy tales reimagined for the stage. The Victorian State Ballet is taking to the Dunstan Playhouse with its sensational Beauty & The Beast production this May 3 and 4. Having sold out theatres country-wide since its debut in 2018, this original ballet is a fresh retelling of this spellbinding story, underpinned by magical moments, love and classical dance.
