For make-up artist and influencer Lili Karamalikis, the best thing about Burnside Village is that some of the city’s best fashion, beauty and food is found all under one roof.
All good morning routines start with coffee and the same can be said for make-up artist, influencer and Flūffi Beauty business owner, Lili Karamalikis. When she’s not busy waking up early to work with bridal clients, you can find her sipping on a soy cappuccino and attending a STRONG Pilates class before she starts her day.

The seasonal shift into autumn is a good excuse for a wardrobe refresh and for Lili, her go-to destination is Burnside Village. “It’s very iconic,” she says. “And it has a nice shopping experience – every shop feels like it has its own presence. There’s a really nice range [of stores] without it being overwhelming, so it still has that boutique feel to it.”
First on the agenda is ZARA, a favourite brand for the Adelaide personality when looking to capitalise on this season’s latest style. “It’s great because it’s super affordable and you can be part of the new fashion trends without breaking the bank,” she says. “And then you can find luxury pieces at places like Scanlan Theodore.”
It’s labels like Scanlan Theodore that help Lili maintain continuity in her style as the seasons change. She’s a self-confessed “sucker for a capsule wardrobe” – taking time to invest in good-quality wardrobe essentials (a lightweight blazer is her autumn must-have) – and leans on layering as the colder months creep closer.

“I love a good white shirt and nice quality jeans,” she says. “And I feel like ballerina flats are sticking around, too! I’m going to be re-visiting those [this season].”
Both stores are exclusively available at Burnside Village, joining more than 30 fashion brands and standalone boutiques like Oroton, Kookaï, Tommy Hilfiger and Polo Ralph Lauren (with even more on the way thanks to the 80-store expansion slated to open in March 2025).
Of course, it wouldn’t be a trip to Burnside Village if Lili didn’t take time to stalk the shelves of the centre’s beauty stores. Burnside Village is home to not one but two Meccas, as well as brands like L’Occitane, endota spa, and Adelaide’s own Jurlique.
Lili predicts that ‘less is more’ make-up is here to stay and says Westman Atelier’s range of cream blush and contour sticks, available at Mecca Maxima, are some of the key products needed to nail this trend. The Hourglass tinted moisturiser is quickly becoming one of her go-to favourites, too. “I’ve just started using it,” she explains. “It’s really beautiful and lightweight on the skin.”

Turning her attention to skin hydration is something that has also become a top priority for Lili this autumn. “The Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base is super hydrating. Heading into the cooler months, it’s good to try and keep the skin hydrated and glowing.”
There’s no doubt that shopping can work up an appetite, but what Lili loves about Burnside Village’s range of food retailers is the accessibility to grab-and go bites that are fresh, healthy and filling. If she’s on the run, a roll from Sushi Hub is always a winner. However, when she finds time you can find her inside cafes like Mr Chu – one of the latest eateries to open inside Burnside – savouring another soy cappuccino and a croissant.
Re-fuelled and refreshed, she’s ready to tackle the rest of her afternoon and, thanks to the free underground parking at Burnside Village, her experience at the centre is even sweeter. “What I love about Burnside Village is you can get everything you need and it’s all so convenient,” she says. “It really is a one-stop-shop.”
