The cooler weather is here, and with that comes time for a wardrobe refresh. Ahead of Burnside Village’s highly-anticipated studio.24 autumn/winter collection launch, leading stylist, Cimon Vozzo, walks us through the campaign’s must-know trends.

RED
Red was a favourite motif in the spring/summer season, and it’ll remain the sartorial DNA that defines the coming months. However, instead of bright pops of the shade, autumn/winter wardrobes will favour deeper and more rusted tones of red. This muted tone brings sophistication to outfits that move from day to night while keeping it fun and vibrant. Experiment with tights, scarves, lipsticks and shoes for an understated look or embrace the power of a monochrome red ’fit this season.
Cimon says: Red is making another big comeback. I feel like if you buy a red suit, you’ll be able to wear it for the next ten years – it’s something you’ll forever have in your wardrobe. Mixing it with tan softens the blow a little bit, so popping this shade with red looks beautiful.
LONG LIVE LEATHER
Our love for leather will never wane. This autumn/winter, we’re seeing the reintroduction of leather mini skirts into fashion’s vernacular. And what’s really courting the attention of the global scene is how this piece is styled. Faded, distressed and well-loved leather soften in all the right places, adding a cool edge to any evening outfit. Burnside Village’s studio.24 campaign takes cues from this favourite street style sense too, coupling leather minis with a matching leather bomber jacket and knee-high boots – the ultimate after-work drinks look.
Cimon says: Expect to see mini leather skirts everywhere. An A-line fit is flatting on most people, but there are also longline styles as well. From Perri Cutten to Seed, you’ll find different cuts of leather skirts.
TAILORED DESIGN
This trend hits all the right notes for men. Tailored design adds power to any outfit, but this style doesn’t have to be tight and form-fitting. Instead, what we’re seeing this autumn/winter is motifs of tailoring – think collars, crisp lines and strong silhouettes – translated into looser looks and paired with unconventional pieces, like slouchy dress pants with loafers and oversized blazers with tanks. Reference Burnside Village’s studio.24 campaign when teaching the man in your life this trend.
Cimon says: Tailored suiting is here to say. It changes every season, but we’ve got the double-breasted blazers paired with more of a low rise, oversized pant.
EVENING GLAM
Just like dopamine dressing, Burnside Village’s studio.24 evening glam adds energy back into autumn/winter fashion. This season, lean into the thrill of dressing up to the nines. This trend feels best when interwoven with your own style – whether that’s mixing feminine and androgynous design or wearing head-to-toe avant-garde glitz. Cimon says her favourite way to work this trend into her wardrobe is through sequinned pieces. Studio 54 fashion and the disco era, which this campaign cleverly draws from, was underpinned by fun, experimentation and glamour! Take note.
Cimon says: Sequins are back in a big way, whether it’s a full length gown or a cropped number. Try pieces like the Carla Zampatti black crushed sequin skivvy gown or the Carla Zampatti black sequin bodysuit.
NAVY IS THE NEW BLACK
The cool, wet weather of autumn and winter makes us want to lean into wearing dark colours. But sometimes, black is just too black. This is where rich shades of navy are great to work into your wardrobe, adding depth to outfits in a new and interesting way. According to Cimon, there are plenty of navy pieces on racks this season, too — shop your favourite Burnside stores for this look, from Seed to Country Road and Carla Zampatti.
Cimon says: Navy is a great substitute if you don’t want to wear black, making the colour a nice core piece in your wardrobe.
MATCHING SETS
The ease of a matching set will never go away, even in winter. This season’s matching sets are drawing from the A/W’s biggest trends, working shades of navy, red and tan into two pieces that cause impact. Search for leather, pinstripe or denim elements when looking to elevate this style too – Cimon suggests trying Seed’s matching pinstripe pocket shirt and pleat pants from the Burnside Village’s studio.24 campaign.
Cimon says: Matching sets are going nowhere. People used to think they were out there, but now it’s an everyday staple in a cool wardrobe.
