There’s a reason so many Adelaideans love heading to the Burnside Village Market and filling their baskets with fresh food from the local vendors.

You’ll find Angelakis Bros, who have been serving locally caught seafood for more than 50 years. Stop by for a pre-marinated stir fry (the chilli crab is our favourite) or fresh barramundi. Also located in the Village Market, Haydon’s Family Butchers serves top-grade cuts of meat, skewers and gourmet gluten-free sausages, while Village Gourmet Poultry covers all your chicken needs – like pre-crumbed schnitzels, drumsticks and curated barbecue packs. And, of course, there’s Tony & Mark’s where you’ll find fresh fruit and veg, gourmet goods and flowers.
If freshly made gnocchi, pasta and pizza dough are what you’re after, a pit-stop at Pasta Deli is a must. Offering a range of healthy salads, homemade sauces and other Italian small goods, there are endless ingredients to make a mouth-watering meal at home.
Here’s the other foodie hotspots to check out at Burnside Village this season.
1. MR CHU

Southeast Asian flavours meet South Australian ingredients at Mr Chu. The popular Norwood eatery expanded to a second location inside Burnside Village mid-November. Inside the contemporary space, enjoy classic dishes like eggs benedict or Asian-inspired takes on breakfast favourites like matcha-infused French toast. Mr Chu’s signature flavour combinations have also followed to the Burnside location, so expect truffle mushroom toasties, truffle mie goreng and more.
2. KIN SEAFOOD

Luxury southern Bluefin tuna sashimi bar and store is the result of several Port Lincoln fishers who have banded together to deliver the best quality tuna to South Australians. Their Burnside Village store is their flagship where they serve premium cuts of tuna (Akami, Chutoro and Otoro) plus poke bowls, sushi rolls and soba noodle salads.
3. LET THEM EAT

Fresh flavours find their stride at Let Them Eat. The popular Burnside Village store serves locally sourced vegetarian dishes, including Persian cous cous with roasted cauliflower salads, hand-rolled falafel or pumpkin and feta arancini. Dine in or grab your mouth-watering meal to-go.
4. MR. CHEESE

Mr. Cheese made a name for itself with its Japanese-inspired souffle-style cheesecakes in 2017, but has since expanded its offerings with a selection of other delicious desserts. Savour a slice of signature cheesecake (in flavours like mocha and matcha) or indulge in fresh strawberry tarts and cream puffs. Mr. Cheese serves full-sized cakes for you to take to your next party or event (including gluten-free).
5. BLUPRINT

New to Burnside Village, Bluprint has opened its second Adelaide café in the centre. Quench all your coffee needs at this open-air spot. Roasting Willow Blend Coffee, Bluprint’s baristas expertly sling short macchiatos, lattes and more. Make sure to sit in for one of the eatery’s homemade focaccia sandwiches. Made with fresh bread, enjoy classic flavours like smooth fior di latte with spinach, tomato and basil (The Queen) or pastrami with peppers, cheddar, relish and greens (Il Gino). Don’t forget to try a zeppole, too!
6. VINTAGE CELLARS

You’ll find fine wine specialists at Vintage Cellars in the Village Market. Peruse aisles stocked with your favourite drops, including Clare Valley Rieslings and big, bold Barossa reds. Our favourite is the Jim Barry Watervale Riesling, a punchy lemon, orange blossom and nashi pear tipple that pairs perfectly with a light Thai stir fry.
