5 Ways to Unwind at Wellness Wander

The Adelaide Hills’ health and wellbeing event returns March 31–April 2.

Getting in touch with your mind, body and soul is a lifelong practise, but an annual event like Wellness Wander in the Adelaide Hills is a good reminder to put yourself first. So, take a wander with us as we explore five experiences on this year’s program to help you find your inner zen.

1. PILATES, BRUNCH & MIMOSAS @ LOT.100 | APRIL 1

OJ gives you some vitamin C, right? Book this 75-minute outdoor Piloga (yoga-Pilates) class with Aleenta at Lot.100 in Hay Valley and spend the morning nourishing your body through movement before fuelling your tummy with canapés and sipping, you guessed it, mimosas.

2. SENSORY JOURNEY | APRIL 1

Take your senses on an adventure at Mount Barker’s Ukaria Cultural Centre by treating your palate to delicious dishes prepared by Topiary’s Executive Chef, Kane Pollard. Tune out with healing music and feel your worries fade with complimentary hand massages courtesy of the Adelaide Hills’ own skincare icon, Jurlique. You’ll also get tips on how to transform your home to help clear the clutter.

3. NATURE THERAPY AND FOREST BATHING | APRIL 1

Contrary to the name, this Japanese wellness practise doesn’t actually involve soaking in a tub in the great outdoors. Forest bathing – or shinrin-yoku – is all about being in the presence of trees and aims to boost the immune system, decrease stress and lower blood pressure.

Led by a certified Nature Therapy Educator, you’ll be guided through meditation and slow walking to help you connect to your surroundings in Belair National Park.

4. ROCK CLIMB, ZIPLINE AND MEGA SWING EXPERIENCE | APRIL 1–2

Finding your inner zen doesn’t always involve slow breathing – instead, why not get your endorphins pumping at Woodhouse Activity Centre in Piccadilly? Immerse yourself in this 90-minute adventure, which features a 15-metre rock climbing wall, a 324-metre zipline and a giant swing suspended mid-air.

5. LUNA TENT – REST AND RESTORE IN NATURE | MARCH 31–APRIL 2

Has all that soul-searching taken it out of you? It’s time to snooze in style at Luna Tent – a private bohemian-themed glamping tent at The Farm for Wellbeing. Situated in Flaxley on 23 acres, your only wake-up call will be birdsong. Walk the lush property or book a massage in the nearby Wellbeing Centre. Top off this dreamy experience with a complimentary bottle of Adelaide Hills vino.
