The team at Gerard McCabe share the top five things couples need to consider when choosing their forever rings.

Design
You will want your wedding ring to sit perfectly alongside your engagement ring, so this should be top of mind when deciding on your design. The rings don’t necessarily need to match, but we do recommend matching the metal, style and diamond quality to achieve a beautiful bridal ring set that looks like it was made to be together. Brides should also consider whether they would like to fit an eternity ring on the other side of their engagement ring down the track.
Timing
We suggest starting the wedding ring design process four to six months before your wedding day. Most of our wedding band stake between two and eight weeks to manufacture andt hey are all made to order.
Classic Diamonds or Coloured Gems?
If you want to add a splash of colour to your wedding ring, pink sapphires, blue sapphires and rubies will never disappoint. Our settings are built to last the test of time and meticulously crafted in 18-carat yellow gold, white gold, rose gold or platinum. Classic diamond rings have also been reinvented with the resurgence of emerald, pear and oval-cuts.
Men’s Rings
More men are breaking with tradition and choosing interesting metals, unique designs and diamonds in their ring designs. Consider rose gold, platinum or tantalum to personalize the colour of your ring, then embellish with stylish and modern textures. We encourage men to take their time, try on lots of options and select a style that suits them.
Restoration or Remodelling
For those who are lucky enough to have a family heirloom piece that has been handed down, our team of experienced jewellery restoration specialists can turn your ‘something old’ into something really special. Or, consider our Bespoke Design service to remodel a family jewel into your wedding band or even earrings or a necklace to wear on the day.
