Avoid harsh exfoliants
Rather than using a harsh exfoliant to sloth away deep skin cells use cleansers containing AHA’s (alpha hydroxy/glycolic acid) and BHA’s (beta hydroxy/salicylic acid). Glycolic acid will get rid of dead skin cells, while salicylic acid will purge out the pores and keep your skin clear of bacteria.
fRAGRANCE-FREE AND NON-FOAMING
Cream-based cleansers are a good choice if you’re battling dryness, although foaming cleansers are not as severe as you might think. It is important, however, that you choose one that is right for your skin type, ensuring it balances the pH levels of your skin to avoid stripping, which will make your skin even more sensitive and reactive. Fragrant cleansers may irritate the skin and cause dry patches, itchiness and breakouts.
